2022: Ramaskrik film festival hosts the Nordic premiere of Neil Marshall's new horror film THE LAIR.

Director Neil Marshall and lead actress Charlotte Kirk are coming to Oppdal to attend the premiere and meet the fans. Horror fans know Marshall for films such as DOG SOLDIERS (2002), THE DESCENT (2006) and most recently THE RECKONING (2020). The first two are undisputed classics of the 2000s and Marshall has been on Ramaskrik's wish list for years.
—It is an honor for us to be visited by such a renowned director as Neil Marshall, says festival director Morten Haagensen. We are all fans and are proud to present him to our audience.

Marshall has always worked within the genre world. After the double hits in the first half of the 2000s, both DOOMSDAY (2008) and CENTURION (2010) came along, before he made his way to TV, where he has worked on many major series. First on BLACK SAILS before doing two episodes of GAME OF THRONES, one of them earning him a well-deserved Emmy nomination. Both episodes he made are among the series' best rated episodes, audience and critics alike. Marshall has also worked on the series WESTWORLD, HANNIBAL and LOST IN SPACE to name a few. After many years in TV, he returned to the cinema screen in 2019 with HELLBOY and is now truly back in the horror genre with THE LAIR.

Charlotte Kirk stars as Royal Air Force pilot Lt. Kate Sinclair who has been shot down over Afghanistan. She earned a number of awards and nominations for her role in Marshall's previous film, THE RECKONING, and has starred in several acclaimed films. In 2015, she had a central role in the Lionsgate sci-fi film VICE, where she played opposite Bruce Willis. Kirk also has roles in Hollywood films such as OCEANS 8 and HOW TO BE SINGLE.
—Lt. Sinclair is a cool character in a cool movie. Kirk must fight against monsters in an old Soviet research station in the Afghan desert. THE LAIR is a charming action/horror movie with lots of gore. A real late night hit at a horror film festival. It's wonderful for us that Charlotte Kirk is coming to Oppdal, says Haagensen.
—Ramaskrik opens on Thursday October 20th with a premiere and a grand visit. Marshall and Kirk will stay here on Thursday, but must leave to the very next day.
—You just have to book in from day one at Ramaskrik October  20th through 23rd, concludes Haagensen.
