This year the legendary podcast team is back with another wild dive into Norwegian cult cinema. On Thursday morning, join them for a special live recording with the filmmakers behind the modern classic Trollhunter. They’ll also serve up some Jærsplätter madness in The Woodsman IV and wrap things up with spooky fun for younger audiences in The Ten Lives of Titanic the Cat – screened on glorious 35mm with english subtitles.
For the third year running, Ramaskrik teams up with cult film champions Aleksander U. Serigstad and Kristian Serigstad Jensen to dig deep into Norway’s horror history and uncover hidden gems and great stories.
As part of our anniversary celebration of Trollhunter, the podcast will revisit this beloved found-footage monster movie – a film so iconic it’s even part of their jingle! See it under the stars in Villmarksleiren on Wednesday, October 15, and the next morning don’t miss a live podcast with producer John M. Jacobsen and cinematographer Hallvar Bræin. Director André Øvredal couldn’t make it (he’s busy finishing his new horror film in LA), but fear not – Norsk Kultfilm has recorded an exclusive interview with him that drops Tuesday, October 14. The podcast will be in norwegian, while Trollhunter screens with english subtitles.
From there we venture into indie territory with The Woodsman IV, a late ’90s “Jærsplatter” from director John Helge Hesby. Technically raw but bursting with heart and creativity, this 45-minute underground oddity has rarely been seen until now. Prepare for a true hidden treasure of Norwegian DIY horror. This is screened in norwegain with no subtitles.
Finally, we lighten things up with Titanic’s Ten Lives (2007), a charming children’s horror directed by Grete Bøe-Waal. Think Are You Afraid of the Dark? meets Goosebumps. For many, this was their first brush with cinematic scares as kids, and now they’re grown up – making this the perfect chance for a nostalgic reunion. Shown on 35mm with english subtitles, it’s a sweet, spooky breather from the heavier horror fare in our lineup.
