We are expanding with an additional screen this fall. Additionally, we are reutilizing an old acquaintance in Speilsalen. This means a total of four auditoriums, more films, and even better capacity for this edition of the festival.

Our new venue will be Carousell Cinema & Bar at the old Nor Hotel in the city center, in the premises of the old nightclub at Nor. Today, it has been transformed into a top-notch activity center with mini-golf, simulators, VR games, and other fun activities. We have established a great collaboration with Carousell and will utilize the darkest parts of the venue with the rural cinema setup to screen films on Friday and Saturday during the festival.

In 2022, we filled 4,380 cinema seats in two auditoriums, an incredible response for our first attempt after the pandemic. The capacity of our smallest cinema hall has sometimes been exceeded. Now we have found a good additional venue in the center of Oppdal, just a snowball's throw away from the cultural center. "Bygdekinoen" provides top-notch cinema equipment and sets up for screenings for two full days. Carousell will have a staffed bar in the evening, and the activities outside of the cinema will be accessible to the public.

Furthermore, by utilizing the smallest 35-seat "Speilsalen" in Kulturhuset for screenings over several days, we can accommodate more films and distribute the audience more evenly. Speilsalen has sporadically been set up as a cinema hall over the 13 years that the festival has existed.

The program for this year's festival will be finalized around September 20th and will be launched shortly thereafter. We are working tirelessly to have the freshest program possible for this year's festival.
